It's mostly the little things, a general sense that people think they could take him if they wanted, and the kind of treatment that comes with that mentality. Also, Akuroou taking the ring didn't help.
Incidentally, I think I have a head-canon for what happened with all that: The ring, trying to get Akuroou good and riled up, ended up abusing his body too much. It likely caused his various glands to produce more adrenaline and testosterone than they could support, and they eventually shut down, so when Akuroou felt a loss, he literally had nothing in him for a second wind. The ring, frustrated and unable to get any response from him anymore, just tried to lash out.
Yuzuki though... I think she alternates between very classical 'zen' music which she uses for meditation, and probably a rock or even rap to 'pump up' with. I could see grunge/rap being her general preference.
