OOC

Stealing from Hino:

You ask me a question about my characters, I answer and ask you one about yours in return, we keep going in that pattern until one of us can't think of any questions anymore, etc.

Hmm. I think Erland enjoyed when Vidya was more shy and a bit tsun. He really enjoys teasing and coaxing into embarrassing things. Also he has a lot of trouble following Vidya's thought pattern; most of it seems to come out of left field to him. Of course, that means she stays interesting, at least, but it disorients him something fierce.

...I'm curious how Niyo and Shiyoko would be as overlords.

[personal profile] isdragonlady 2012-12-13 04:54 am (UTC)(link)
Niyo would be a very dark bitter soul, in a very dark bitter land. Not very good, and likely to fall into darkness and evil, and become increasingly twisted.

Shiyoko meanwhile would be a massive goofball. It's Shiyoko. She'd be a ham.

What's so baffling about Vidya's train of thought?

...well, Shiyoko and Erland would at least play off each other well, won't they?

Honestly, I just can't follow it. I can't find a thread of logic that connects the things she likes together. I suppose it's partly my failing, but it just seems like she comes up with the most oddball things that you wouldn't expect with her (like... wombat, pachinko, various odd things she mentions...).

Hmm... oh, right, what do Erland's girls dislike about him?

Vidya? The fact he's much. More adul. It's a bit off putting and she preferred him with the smugness he used to have.

Shiyoko is worried he's going to be too controlling. She doesn't mind compromising, but she's afraid of being a bird in a cage, and that Erland's going to turn out to be a nastier husband than she wanted.

(This is going to come up in her sessions with Shikou's therapist.)

What do your people usually dream about?

She's probably glad that he's getting a bit of the old smugness back, then.

...and sadly, Shiyoko does have a bit of a point there. Very protective.

Hmm. Honestly, I can't think of much. Erland, being Erland, doesn't really dream so much as let his bodies dream, with a loose connection to his higher consciousness.

Yuzuki probably dreams about fighting, or occasionally about cuddling with a cute smart girl (E.g. Franny or Bright)

Auun would dream about eating or chasing things.

Ayukawa dreams normal woman dreams, sometimes sexy, sometimes scary, sometimes helpless feeling.

Kabayama likely has very lonely dreams, like being alone in a ghost town or his home or the like. Poor guy.

Theresa has full out nightmares more often than she'd admit. Whatever drove her to that state left a deep scar on her subconcious.

Eero dreams normal dreams. Involving monsters. Scary and sexy. Sometimes at the same time. He tends to wake up confused and bothered, in more than one way.

In what way do Erland's girls feel he's the most controlling? What do they wish he'd back off about?

Shiyoko tends to feel Erland views her a lot of times as a prize and she needs to be protected and coddled and it MAKES HER VERY VERY ANGRY. She doesn't mind being married, but if Erland tries to cage her too much, she will get angry and leave with Kamala as necessary.

Vidya wishes she didn't feel so. Covered in safety gear and could be a bit more adventurous and reckless.

Basically they feel he tends to smother a tad too much. They get WHY, but it's a bit bothersome. The best relationships avoid excessively spending time together.

What does Erland find most frustrating about being married? Of the girls he's courting, what bothers him about their behaviors? And does he feel excessively frustrated with Niyo?

Erland really does try not to cage them in too much... though he does monitor them, and has safeties to prevent anything too serious... he does let them wander a fair deal...!

The thing he finds frustrating, I think, is the issue of freedom. It tends to be the one thing that gets brought up a lot, and he really tries to make it work, but it seems like nothing short of letting them bungie jump without the bungie is enough. Granted, he's kiiind of a creeper about it, but. It kinda is what keeps him from just ending everything, so. Important.

Shiyoko bothers him right now because he really wants her to relax more. He didn't really like how she was changing herself to fit a mold, even if he liked the mold. It seems forced and uncomfortable for her. Also, I think he resents taking care of Kamala as much as he does, just a little bit. It's understandable since he can do a lot more than Shiyoko really can, but still, I see him taking care of Kamala at night almost all the time, only handing off to Shiyoko when he can't calm Kamala down. Of course, one could argue that it's Erland's fault for them having a baby quite so soon...

Niyo has always frustrated Erland, from way back. He kind of wishes he loved her more, or found something cute about her at least, so he could be more doting, and thus hopefully more comforting. He mostly just pities her, and really wishes she could find happiness. He would really like her to raise dragons and cattle for him, though. >.>; Selfish guy.

Yasu frustrates Erland too, because it feels so close, and yet so far. Setsu frustrates him because of the whole 'military' thing. Generally not a world he wants to get into, but it's kinda inevitable too.

Since I'm thinking of it, how much longer would Shiyoko have waited had Erland not convinced her to have a baby right away?

Likewise, how soon is Erland likely to get pressured into having (another) kid from his various lovers?

[personal profile] blackrthanblack 2012-12-15 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
Shiyoko's own issues with the mold are something she should have to deal with soon. Perhaps I'll find a way to deal with that.

A lot of the reason Niyo doesn't dere so well is she probably feels being soft and nice is a weakness, and lot of her issues have to deal with "Was this deserved?".

@ Shiyoko and Babies: ... That's a good question. I don't know honestly. She was a dumb kid then.

Vidya is likely to be fine for a few years. Shiyoko is dependent on mood I think. Niyo is well. If Erland gets Niyo, expect him to be strapped down and pumped.

Is Erland happy he got somewhere with Setsu. Is he happy it'll result in her and a Dyson Sphere hooking up?

Things with Niyo are looking kind of grim at this point. Oh well.

Erland is very happy about Setsu right now, yes. She's so cute~. ... Dyson Sphere what?

Does Vidya like having a helper in the lab? ...even someone as timid and unconditioned as Theresa?

[personal profile] isdragonlady 2012-12-15 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
That's because Niyo's miserable.

I'm planning her hijacking it or Dyson Sphere hijacking her. Because it's funny.

It's relaxing, and she wants to have Theresa feel useful for once. And hey, some good might come out of it.

[personal profile] bibeakerbabe 2012-12-15 03:55 am (UTC)(link)
What does Theresa think of her new job?

[personal profile] pureplainpatron 2012-12-15 04:51 am (UTC)(link)
She is... conflicted. On one hand, she loves feeling useful (if only slightly), and it's great spending time with Vidya.

On the other hand, mad science kind of scares Theresa, and associating some of the stuff in there with Vidya is uncomfortable. Please don't ask what, I just remember a scene where Theresa peeked in, and she was disturbed at a few things there. Not. Majorly, just. Uncomfortable.

Uh... How do Erland's girls plan to keep from going crazy from living essentially forever?

As much as Erland will hate it: Personality and memory alteration, or experimenting themselves until they turn into Norikos. Besides, human memories would only last 300 years.
